Effective financial education for sustainable and inclusive growth
The symposium marked the 10th anniversary of the creation of the OECD International Network on Financial Education (OECD/INFE). For the occasion, the symposium focused on the relationship between financial education policies and broad economic, financial and social outcomes, including its role in supporting sustainable and inclusive growth. The symposium was opened by OECD Secretary-General, Ángel Gurría [transcript], with a keynote speech from Pier Carlo Padoan, Minister of Economy and Finance of Italy [transcript]. The participation of more than 200 international experts from over 65 countries, including many high-level officials from government, central banks, financial institutions and not-for-profit organisations, contributed to the success of the event and to the relevance of the discussions held. This event was co-organised by the Global Financial Literacy Excellence Centre (GFLEC) and the OECD International Network on Financial Education (OECD/INFE). |
