FIRS and SystemSpecs Join Forces to Make Tax Remittances Easier

SystemSpecs has partnered with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to boost tax administration through its Remita Payment Gateway, which powers payments on TaxPro-Max, a newly developed solution for submitting tax returns, as part of efforts to further simplify tax remittances in Nigeria.

The Remita Payment Gateway platform for private sector and government payments has been integrated with the FIRS’s new TaxPro Max e-filling platform to automate tax filing, enable hassle-free registration, ease tax payments, and provide a single-view of transaction records, according to the company in a statement.

Taxpayers can now register for TaxPro Max online or at a FIRS tax office near them, according to the statement.

Abayomi Oniku, Divisional Head, Business Development, SystemSpecs, stated that the relationship between SystemSpecs and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) is expected to boost the digitalisation of tax administration in Nigeria.

He stated that the Remita Payment Gateway will continue to address the payment demands of individuals, businesses, and governments at all levels in order to fulfill the organization’s brand promise.

“As part of our ongoing support for various sectors of the Nigerian economy, we have now advanced our brand proposition to make tax payment faster, easier, and more efficient. Our most recent collaboration with the FIRS is aimed at making it easier for people, businesses, and government organizations to pay their taxes anywhere and at any time to ensure compliance.”

One of the advantages of paying taxes with Remita on TaxPro-Max, according to Oniku, is the availability of several payment methods, including internet banking, card, transfer, USSD, and, if preferred, paying taxes in person at a bank branch.

“Taxpayers should go to the TaxPro-Max website and click on the Remita logo to get a Document Identification Number (DIN/RRR) and pay using the most convenient Remita payment channel. Government organizations would use their existing Remita profile to complete the transaction.

“Among other features, the new TaxPro-Max e-filling platform was created to facilitate easy registration, filing, and payment of taxes, as well as to enable the automated credit of withholding tax and other credits to the taxpayer’s account. “The platform also provides taxpayers with a unified view of all transactions,” he added.
