Co-organised by the OECD*, the Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service of Korea, this event explored policies and good practices for supporting long-term savings and investments through financial education and financial consumer protection. In particular, the programme allowed in-depth discussion on:

policies and programmes focusing on the promotion of saving for retirement highlighting the role of financial education and awareness;
-
the promotion of savings and investments through national strategies for financial education;
-
financial education for the protection of investors and the role of the private sector, building on existing and ongoing work developed by the OECD/INFE.
The symposium was attended by an international audience of high-level officials and experts from ministries of finance and education, central banks, regulatory and supervisory authorities, other governmental organisations, international organisations, the private sector, academia, civil society and non-governmental organisations, particularly from Asia and OECD/INFE member countries.
