The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced that it will immediately cease selling foreign exchange to Nigerian Bureau De Change (BDC) operators. The Central Bank claims to have evidence that the BDCs were engaging in rent-seeking when it came to dollar sales. On Monday, the naira lost 0.08 percent versus the US dollar, closing at N411.07 per dollar, down from N410.75 per dollar on Friday, June 4th, 2021.
